Let your AI agent ship the clip

Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor and other apps that support MCP can use ShipYourClips to record your screen, export the clip and read what was said. When your agent has built something, it can show you, and put the GIF in the pull request itself.

Set it up

  1. Update to ShipYourClips 1.2 or later, then open ShipYourClips > Settings and turn on Allow AI agents to control ShipYourClips.
  2. Connect your app. Settings has a Copy button for each of these.

    Claude Code: run this once in Terminal. It uses Claude Code's claude command, so if Terminal can't find it, install Claude Code's command-line tool first.

    claude mcp add --scope user shipyourclips -- '/Applications/ShipYourClips.app/Contents/Helpers/syc-mcp'

    Claude Desktop: open Settings > Developer > Edit Config, add this to claude_desktop_config.json, then restart Claude.

    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "shipyourclips": {
          "command": "/Applications/ShipYourClips.app/Contents/Helpers/syc-mcp"
        }
      }
    }

    Cursor and other MCP apps: add a server that runs /Applications/ShipYourClips.app/Contents/Helpers/syc-mcp.

  3. The first time your app uses ShipYourClips, you'll be asked to allow it. That's it.

exportMake an MP4 or GIF, exactly as the editor would, in your Exports folder.

Privacy

The connection runs entirely on your Mac, and nothing comes to us. What an agent reads, such as transcripts and file details, goes to that app and the AI service it uses, under their own terms. More in our privacy policy.
