ShipYourClips is a macOS app from Social Impact Ltd (company number 08995296), registered at 12 Limedale Avenue, Oakwood, Derby, England, DE21 2UE. This policy explains what we do, and mostly do not, do with your data. Questions: hello@shipyourclips.com.

Your recordings stay on your Mac

Recording, editing, and exporting all happen locally on your device. We do not collect, upload, see, or have any access to your screen recordings, audio, webcam video, or captions. Caption transcription runs on-device using Apple's Speech framework. The app works fully offline.

Permissions

The app asks for Screen Recording and Accessibility (required), and optionally Microphone, Camera, and Speech Recognition. These are used only to create your recording on your own device. Nothing captured through them is transmitted to us.

Purchases and licensing

When you subscribe, payment and license delivery are handled by our payment provider, Polar, acting as merchant of record. They collect your email and payment details under their own privacy policy. We never receive or store your card details.

When you activate a license inside the app, your license key and your computer's name (used to label the activation, so you can tell your devices apart) are sent to Polar to activate and check the license. The app re-checks the license with Polar from time to time while it runs.

Updates

The app checks for new versions by downloading a small update file from shipyourclips.com. If you choose to install an update, the app itself is downloaded from download.shipyourclips.com. That request carries nothing about you beyond what any web request includes, such as your IP address. You can turn automatic checks off in the app.

License checks and update checks are the only requests the app makes on its own. Your recordings are never part of either.

Crash reports

If the app quits unexpectedly, the next time you open it we ask whether you want to send a report. Nothing is sent unless you choose to send it, and there is no background error tracking or analytics of any kind.

A report contains where in the code the crash happened, the app version, your macOS version and Mac model, and the country your request came from. It does not contain your recordings, audio, captions, or the contents of any file you were working on. We do not store your IP address. Reports go to crash.shipyourclips.com, which is ours, and are kept in private storage only we can read. A copy is saved on your Mac so you can see exactly what was sent.

This website

shipyourclips.com is hosted on Cloudflare. Cloudflare may process standard server logs (such as IP address and request information) to keep the site secure and fast. We do not run advertising or third-party tracking scripts. If you email us, we keep that message so we can reply.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data, profile you, or share your information except with the providers above strictly to run the product.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under UK GDPR and GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Email hello@shipyourclips.com and we will help.

Children

ShipYourClips is not directed at children under 13.
